How many quails do you put in a 2 x 6 cage?

Q; I haven't started yet (as in no birds or enclosures set up yet). How many eggs should I buy, or should I get 3 breeding pairs instead? I have chickens but never done any breeding as we aren't allowed roosters in town. But it's not enough eggs for our family. I'm not allowed to have more than 20 small birds in my local area. I have a largish backyard in a small town. We're surrounded by businesses so no one should be annoyed by the male quail. Fantastic video by the way, exactly what I wanted to know before I go buying aviaries etc.

The only reason I would buy new blood is too improve size from another line. But I would raise up those birds, breed those birds, see how they compare to your own original birds, and THEN add some into your line IF there is a improvement

In any of your related videos have you shown from start to finish how to turn and hatch out chicks in this incubator? Would be great to have a series where you cover all of the basics because from what I’ve seen I don’t feel knowledgeable enough to build and use this.

Glad I'm living in the future and didn't have to wait 3 years for you to explain everything so that I can actually build one. Before I build it, should I build one or just go with the Borotto Real 49?

Watching this video I see why such incubators like Farm Innovations have horrible temp control and are very unevenly heated; the fan is off-center and the motor is in one corner and creates a hotspot on that side. 3 minutes in and you are really selling me on the Borotto. Wow! The fact that you can add water without removing the top is great. I've heard people using a turkey baster or syringe from the top on the Farm Innovations, which is just silly to have to do. This one sounds superior and the price difference is minimal for the hassle of other brands.

In Australia you can't sell eggs for eating unless you have a licence which sucks. Can sell fertile eggs with zero worries though

I did my own method of dispatch before even finding your video. It was by far easy for me to do but your video definitely helped me process them and I watched you as I did it. This was a very helpful and easy video to understand and took me -as a first timer- less than 5 minutes total for 2 birds and I only watched your video once. I just wanted to say, Thank you❤

I live in an area where we get hurricanes. I was thinking of having some cages for when that happens so that I can bring the quail inside the house when I finally start keeping quail. Is there anything you recommend?

Thanks! I’m in the research stages of preparing to raise quail. I honestly was worried I would be too squeamish to butcher them when the time comes, but this method seems super easy and not nearly as graphic/traumatic as I was expecting. I’ll probably watch it a few times to desensitize myself.

Can you post a list of the pvc cuts? I finally found all of the pieces I need, but I need the measurements. Or can you direct me to the place you have already posted the list?

Getting ready to process my first batch of my quail and I’m so glad I found this video I’m starting with my dogs food as I can be vegan if I run out of meat but my livestock guardian animals can’t so I’m prioritising them. Once I’ve perfected my technique and have a good rotation with the least cost (process as soon as they’re mature so I’m not wasting quail food ) and know I’m doing it correctly and clean I’ll process for my own meat but I was so nervous before this video. Makes it look very easy. Thank you. I grew up on home kill farm but it’s been so long since I had to do this.

Can this type of breeding be done if you don’t separate colours?

Hello Terry great video first of all , thanks . How do we conect our fan to the heathing elements (light bulbs ) yes l see that the fan are conected to a 12v transformer and add a swith but how to operate the fan on and off automatically. Thanks a lot.

This is the most disgusting recipe I have ever made and I gave it out for Christmas! You ought to be ashamed !!!!!! You are for sure not from the south I mean no one liked them and I followed it to the tee you should take this down
